TVR+ is a Romanian streaming platform and catch-up service owned and operated by the Romanian Television Society, the Romanian public television system. TVR+ was launched in May 2012 as an alternative for users who want to stream content aired on all TVR’s terrestrial channels. 

Over the years, TVR+ has been known for giving users an option to follow events as they develop live or via its catch-up service. The 2012 Summer Olympics were the first major event streamed on this platform, reaching over 60,000 viewers. Since then, news broadcasts, entertainment shows, cultural programs, children’s programming, animated movies, religion, science, sports, and educational shows have been streamed on this platform coming from the company’s terrestrioal feeds. Exclusive content has also been added to TVR+ to make it even more appealing to those users that have subscribed to the service.

Speaking about sports, TVR+ has been known for covering events such as the Summer Olympics, the FIFA World Cup, European Athletics Championships, and more. Content related to the Romanian National Football Team has given TVR+ some of its largest audiences, but none larger than the 2014 FIFA World Cup final, when the service recorded over 205,000 streams of the live event.

TVR+ may be accessed on the most popular web browsers across the globe via a PC or Apple computer. Added to that, the service may also be used on mobile devices such as phones and tablets that work with Android and iOS.
